Canal Hike

Posted by akela in : Cubs , add a comment

Tuesday will see the cubs walk along the canalside at Hopwood. The hike was planned for earlier in the year but due to bad weather was cancelled.

The hike will encourage water safety, and allow the cubs to explore the surroundings.

Cubs taking part will be working towards their Outdoor scouting and Fitness challenge awards.

It is expected to be a marvellous evenings weather forecast so hopefully we will be able to have a dry walk.

Unfortunately the hike starts and finishes at the excellent Hopwood Public House - but i cant see them allowing 25 cubs in for a drink!!!!!

Brockhouse Shield Competition

Saturday saw 4 cubs - Luke K, Kallam, Daniel P and Thomas G take part in the Brockhouse Shield Competition.  A scouting skills and fun competition.

The cubs took part in 16 bases, including archery - boules - horseshoe toss - knotting - compass - mapping - first aid- senses- quiz - treasure hunt just to name a few.

They all worked and behaved extremely well and scored 264 points overall. The third best score on the day.

Well done cubs you did St David’s Proud.

Guinness Book of Records Sleepover

8 cubs were invited to share a Sleepover with Weoley Hill and Woodgate Pioneers on Saturday evening. So the cubs whom are going on the international trip next year represented St David’s cubs.

We had a picnic dinner, played football and cricket, played chocolate games and then the cubs tried to get to sleep!!!!!!

A mass teeth brushing session was held on Sunday morning in line with all the other Sleepover’s going on through out the UK.

Please remember Sainsbury vouchers need to be handed in this week so we can order our new equipment.
