The UK jamboree offers home hospitality to members of scouting from a round the world. Birmingham County have members of the Swiss contingent to home. Members are of scout age and are male and female. See below a letter from HQ. If anyone would be able to offer home hospitality or wants more info then contact me ASAP

Dear All

Please forgive me for sending out this email.

Although we have had some offers of help off members of our County we are now DESPERATE tofind another 6 families to offer home hospitality to a minimum of 2 young people each from the Swiss contingent – we also need some additional families in case of emergency.

The contingent will be arriving at Dover on the morning of Tuesday 24th July, so will be ready for collection late afternoon, early evening that day (probably from Hatchett Street) and will be picked up sometime during the morning of Friday 27th July (again probably Hatchett Street.)

Please can I ask you to pass this message far and wide within the County? If you think there is a family in your Scout Group/District that would be suitable PLEASE ask them to get in touch.

The young people from Switzerland do not need any “Special” treatment; they just need to experience typical British everyday life.

A spare bedroom for them to use would be great, but if you don’t have that, then mattresses on the floor or a camp bed will suffice.

Please, please do your best to help

Thanks

Sharon
