Scout Camp Wales 2007 May 30, 2007
Posted by akela in : Cubs , comments closed14 scouts and leaders are spending the Whitsun Holidays away at Scout Camp.
They left on Saturday 26th and return on Saturday 2nd June.
They are camping in Bala – Wales. On a local farm “Maesafallen” where they will spend the week working towards new scout activity badges and learning new skills and experiences.
The scouts have so far being having an enjoyable time, even with some days being very wet. Spirits are high and they now look forward to hikes as well as onsite pioneering projects and competitions. They have already built their own fires, cut their own wood and cooked their own breakfasts.
I know later in the week they will hopefully be spending a day in the life of Baden Powell 100 years ago and experiencing what he would have cooked and taught to the boy scouts on camp on Brownsea Island.
I really do hope the weather is kind to them on Thursday when the weeks highlight of the seaside visit takes place.
I can’t wait for a report of what fun they all had on their return. And hopefully some photos.

All 6 did the pack proud and finished a very good 4th place out of 12 packs.

Pack Holiday May 7, 2007
Posted by akela in : Cubs , comments closedWell what a great weekend we all had at Pack Holiday. The weather was very kind to us and enabled the cubs to stay outdoors the whole of the weekend.
With over 300 photographs been taken i have choosen a number of good ones and put them into the Needwood Forest campsite Folder on the website.
The cubs enjoyed – a long hike even having a picnic on the local airfield, tracking, axe and saw, fire buillding, backwoods cooking, wide games, shelter building and we even had pool and table tennis competitions.
I just want to express my thanks to Brian, Angela, Barb and Gez for the superb support they all gave over the weekend, also thanks to Tinks, Linos and Ros for coming to help out over the weekend.
All your time is appreciated by me and the cubs.
