Cyclo Cross April 1, 2007

Posted by akela in : Cubs , trackback

A very cold morning was had by the cubs, beavers and scouts who turned up for todays cyclo cross.

Beavers - Alex R 3rd place

Cubs - Jack W, Ben W, Luke K

Scouts - Steven H

As you can see a poor turnout for all sections for which is an excellent event where members just need toturn up and take part.

A great morning was had apart form the cold, and the boys all seemed to have a fun time riding their bikes.

Thanks parents for bringing them down. Photos in the photo gallery for you to look at. Scores below-

I had a great time at cyclo cross this morning even though it was freezing cold. I tried really hard and I was very pleased with myself because I have just learnt how to ride without stablisers. At the start it was down hill and I kept rolling off the starting line, then we all went really fast and had some sharp turns through the taped area. After that there was a very big bump just in front of the first set of trees and when I went over it I went flying off my saddle but didn’t fall off my bike. In between the trees there were lots of broken twigs which slowed me down. Then we had to go through more zig zags which was much smoother, then we had to go up hill and over a massive log. The rest of the track to the finish line was up hill through the trees and very steep. It was great fun and I wish more of you had come.
