Science Experiments January 30, 2007
Posted by akela in : Cubs , comments closedCubs enjoyed doing some science experiments tonight. What fun and mess we had.
Sorry to those parents that trod into the baking soda outside the church hall cubs did exploding experiments (burp in a pot) obviously we went outside.
And yes i managed to get the borax for the rubber ball experiments.
Some cubs even managed to eat all their own smarties without getting them tooo wet for the chromotography experiment.
So we all had some fun. Watch out for the photos

100 – Simple Things
Posted by akela in : Cubs , comments closedWell this evening cubs began our 100 year celebration, with a pack night themed around 100.
Cubs had to take part in 100 simple tasks in the evening session, unfortunatly Akela couldnt think of 100 simple tasks so the cubs had to think up their own 50 simple and silly tasks.
Some tasks the cubs had to do included skipping, drawing with their feet, saying their promise, untying human knots, leapfrogging, gargling and obviously many other funny tasks.
the next few months will see the pack concentrate on our 100 year theme as well as our scouting activities.
Sorry forgot to take the camera so no funny photos.
Cubs also took home their 12 month challenge cards, where they have to get sponsors for the number of completed 100 tasks they do over the time. Well see how many cubs have done in December. Good Luck !

Travel Bug update January 5, 2007
Posted by martin in : Cubs , comments closedHappy New Year!
We posted in August that we had let a geocaching travel bug loose in Utah, USA – with the specific goal of getting back to Birmingham.
Five months on – and the bug is moving.. slowly.
As I write this the bug is somewhere near Chicago; so it’s travelled some 1500 miles east; towards Birmingham.
I hope that by the summer the travel bug will be somewhere local to you all.
