Pantomime – Cinderella December 20, 2006
Posted by akela in : Cubs , comments closedWell just enough time to say What a Night out!!!
A train journey from selly Oak to New Street that was an expereince in its self with loads of excited cubs.
We took the 42 of us to the pantomime at the Hippodrome tonight to see the opening night of Cinderella. WOW!!!!!! It was amazing – even though some thought its a girls panto – it wasnt.
All the cubs and adults alike enjoyed themselves, adn it wasnt just the kids joining in the songs and shouting out.
Once again thanks everyone who came along and gave their time and support it is greatly appreciated. Thank You and all please have a safe and happy Christmas and New Year
Cusb return on Tuesday 9th January.

Well Done! December 12, 2006
Posted by akela in : Cubs , comments closedThank You to those parents and cubs who turned out tonight for the cub carol singing. 14 cubs and some parents braved the eliments of the British weather (it stayed dry all the way through).
It is a shame more cubs didnt attend we had a really good night. Thanks Barb (Group scout leader) for the entertainment.
We collected 60.96 from the local residents and had many people once again listening and joining in from their homes. Many people really do appreciate the time and effort the cubs give to singing carols around the area. And they Thank You all.
Over the past two weeks we have raised a total of 157.00 which is a great amount and will be well spent on the cubs.
Once again thank you to everyone of you who have helped and supported the pack in all weve done. THANK YOU!
Campsite Visit December 9, 2006
Posted by akela in : Cubs , comments closedToday i visited a new campsite in Burton upon Trent, Needwood Forest Scout campsite, Rangemore.
I have been looking for a site to use for next years early May Bank Holiday, Friday 4th – Monday 7th May 2007.
The venue is in excellent condition, comparing it with the vast number we have used over the years.
It holds 34 people over a two storey buidling with leaders lounge, fully central heated and hot showers and open wood burning fire.
All rooms come with bunk beds and bed linen and duvets. Which to be honest is a bit of a luxury for us scouters, but welcome. Im not going soft but as we may be taking girls away for the first time we had best make it nice. ;-)
Photos of the venue are on the cub site so go take a look, and more information concerning the pack holiday will be out in January / February.
Just thought id wet your appetites, and allow you parents to book a weekend away without the kids. ;-)
Carol Singing December 5, 2006
Posted by akela in : Cubs , comments closedA geat big THANK YOU to those parents and cubs who braved the rain and wind this evening for our annual Carol Singing in the local area.
Many people watched and listened to the cubs carol singing though their windows and stood at their doors and the cubs were wished many a Merry Christmas.
Cubs collected 96.13 tonight so to everyone that donated or contributed in singing or provided help with safety issues THANK YOU.
Please remember we are carol singing again next Tuesday, again everyone is welcome.
All money raised will be used for cub events and activities.
